Tiger at the Skate Park

Tiger can usually be found at the beach skim boarding or playing football at the park with Hubby. This week he has found a new hobby...skateboarding. We have gone to the skate park almost every morning. He is getting pretty good! As his Aunt Tami says, "he was born to have a board under those feet!"

I just love watching him!

Our Home School

We have been very busy ever since we found out our beloved school SACA had to close. (sorry for the lack of posts...it has been a little crazy around here.) Hubby and I tossed around the idea of putting our children into another private school, but none in the area can compare to the education our children received at SACA! (Not to mention how much I loved teaching at the school my children were attending!) We also wanted our children to continue being classically trained. So, we decided the best thing to do was home school our children.
Thankfully, we have some friends who also wanted to have their children home schooled...and asked if I would teach their children right along with my own. My kids are thrilled to have one student each in their "class." (except Little Guy...he is our only Kindergartner!)

After, we made our decision, we needed to figure out where we would teach the children. Tiger and Little Guy have missed being roommates. So, Hubby asked them if they would want to share a room again. Thankfully, they were thrilled to bunk back up together and I was thrilled to have a room dedicated for school! We start next week! I will be sure and keep you all posted on how we are doing!

Dinner on the beach

There is nothing more "summer" than dinner on the beach! We love going and watching the sunset. The kids played in the ocean, ate dinner, and then went to the shake shack with the dads! It was a perfect evening!

No Cable = More Smiles

Hubby and I decided to get rid of cable. It has been one of the best things we ever did. We have been talking about it for moths, but neither one of us took the initiative to do it. So, while hubby was in Nevada, I took back our cable boxes. (I called him to get his approval).
Wow, how much more family time we have had now! The kids and I have made more trips to the library, pool and beach. We are reading together more, playing more board games, and hanging outside meeting our neighbors! It has been fabulous! Here are some pictures of the kids playing monkey in the middle with hubby. I am sure we would have been in front of the TV this night if it would have been available...how wonderful to have made this memory instead!

Little Guy was full of laughter!
Hey Tiger, get ready! Hurry Little Guy, daddy is going to tickle me!

Never mind, I got daddy now!

Helping Daddy

I am always so amazed at my hubby's patience with the boys. They asked him to hang a dry erase board in their room a few weeks ago. He took this time to teach them a little more about a drill and a hammer. Tiger wasn't as into as Little Guy, probably because he already knows how to use all those tools! Little Guy was in heaven. Tiger ended up teaching Little Guy right alongside Hubby.

Tiger, the pro!
Look at the concentration on Little Guy!

I love how they both put that tongue out while concentrating!

Green Eggs for breakfast

I love reading to my little ones! Little Guy wanted me to read Green Eggs and Ham. I think I enjoy those Dr. Seuss books more than the kids! Anyway, after reading it to him I asked if he would like to try green eggs for breakfast. He said, "YES!" He was so cute! He had eaten green eggs before at school, but he didn't get to "make" them. So, he begged to "make" them with me. I promised he would be able to help prepare them in the am. So here are some pics of our green eggs!

Little Guy would eat green eggs here OR there! He'd eat them anywhere!
Little Guy even talked the girls into it! He could not get Tiger to try them!

The Last Day of School

It is hard to believe summer is finally here! Our last day of school was May 22. I know, I am late posting...so what's new! Maybe now that summer is here I will have some more time for blogging!
We are so proud of our children! They did a great job at the program! Cutie is now a 4th grader, Tiger is a 2nd grader and Little Guy will go to Kindergarten! Wow! Where does the time go?

American Girl Place

Cutie was so excited to go to AGP today to have lunch and buy Samantha and Nellie's pjs for herself. Last year she had enough money to buy the pjs for the dolls and this year she had saved enough money to buy one herself. She was heartbroken when we arrived and were told that Samantha and Nellie have become collector dolls...they have been locked away in the vault! You can no longer buy their accessories or the dolls! She was so sad! I was devastated for her! However, we were told that the dolls are now selling for $400-$500 on ebay! I haven't checked that figure yet! We won't be selling her dolls anyway!
Cutie decided to spend her money on Julie. The doll she wanted last year, but didn't have enough money to buy. She was actually a little short this year too! So, we put a call into daddy. (we do that every year!) How can hubby say no to her?! He pitched in the rest...and the day was much brighter! Happy Birthday Cutie!

Cutie chose the mini burger and hot dog again this year!

Chloe's 9th Birthday

Cutie turned 9 this week. I can't believe it! She is getting so big! Her requests were simple this year! Melt-in-your-mouth pancakes and eggs for breakfast, hot tub with hot chocolate and marshmellows after breakfast, Disneyland with a friend AND lunch with mom at the American Girl Store with a friend. Here are some pictures from her special day. American Girl Store is scheduled for Saturday! I think she requested that more for me than her! I love going there with her! Happy Birthday Cutie! We love you and are so proud of you!

Hubby and Tiger Go Fishing

Hubby and Tiger woke up at 4 am on Sat and went fishing with some guys from Hubby's work. They had such a great time together. Tiger ended up catching 6 fish! (Hubby caught 2...and Tiger is too sweet to rub that in!) The guide on the boat even cleaned and filleted the fish for Bryce...so tonight we are going to grill them up and have them for dinner. He is so excited that he brought home dinner for the family!

Tiger caught two fish on one pole! What a stud!

Tiger on the boat

This is my favorite picture of Tiger

Hubby is so proud of Tiger!

Tiger is such a tender-loving boy. The entire time they were fishing, Tiger kept turning to Hubby and saying, "Oh dad, it would be so cool if Little Guy was here with us! I wish Little Guy was here!" When they got home, Tiger told Little Guy all about it...and told him how much he missed him! It was precious. Little Guy has one more year until he is old to go fishing on this boat! What heaven that will be for hubby when he can take all his boys together. Although, it was very special to have some father/son time with just Tiger.

Mother/Daughter Luncheon

Cutie and I were able to attend the Mother/Daughter Luncheon last weekend together. I still can't believe my baby is almost 9 years old! Where is the time going? She sang, "This is My Father's World" with the girls choir after lunch. So sweet to listen to them sing and have an afternoon just the two of us. I will always treasure each moment with her. She is such a fun, loving and super silly girl! I love you Cutie!
