Learning to use Chopsticks!

Tom and I took the kids out for Chinese last night. I think we should buy some chopsticks to teach the kids. Tom uses them with as much ease as he does silverware...the kids and I though are still learning. I love these shots of the kids. Levi got fed up of trying and started stabbing the food...and smiling "see, I can do it!" Bryce was a pro from the very beginning! We had a great time! My Aunt Penny and Uncle Mike would be so proud!

One more thing...Anytime you have a picture of Levi making a weird or not nice face he looks EXACTLY like Luke. That scrunched up nose face is so Luke. It's too funny. When Levi is making a sweet face (like normal) there is no more resemblance. lol You'll see when you come out. It kills me.

Love these pictures Nyla! The egg puffs from my blog are from Jessica Seinfeld’s cookbook Deceptively Delicious... I highly recommend! The recipes are really great and get even more veggies into our diets :) yum!

I think I am going to see her the last week of July. She is due on the 30th. I am having a little health issue that i have need to work out before I book my travel. I don't think it is a big deal...but want to be sure before I spend 450 bucks on a ticket!

Nyla, do you know me or what??! You nailed me on the Tyler's Birthday. Then I went to your blogg and well, you nailed it again! I saw the pics of Levi and everyone eating with chop sticks and I said to Mike, I'm SO proud of Nyla. Then I read your comment. I am so crying and smiling:)

A story from Mike...we once took a friend of Blake's to a Japanese restaurant. He had never eaten with chopsticks before...they first brought us salad and miso soup. I told him that the way to eat miso soup is to hold the bowl close to the mouth while inhaling and moving the chopsticks rapidly horizontally to and away from the mouth. The motion of the chopsticks would act very much like the wing of an airplane creating negative air pressure beneath the surface of the chopsticks. This combined with the airflow caused by inhaling, would cause the soup to glide on a cushion of air directly into the mouth. This very, very bright kid who is now a brain surgeon looked at him with complete astonishment for an instant. Penny and Blake were trying not to laugh. They've heard my BS before.

Awesome actions shots. Chopsticks can be frustrating if you don't know how to use them. Since living in Japan my kids were taught how to use them in Japanese culture class. We have even bought Tyler his own pain of training sticks. There is a spring on them. They train their children from infancy here, like we would a baby. I love your pictures. Keep practicing!!!
